After moving to Canada with his family in 1991, Gomez continued to study art at the post secondary level. He has also donationed to a number charities including Miles for A Million Tours, the Breast Cancer Society and Reach for the Rainbow. Driven by his desire to anthropomorphize forms through abstraction, Gomez focuses his attention to the sensualization of gesture.
