Richard Herman has been with Art Interiors since the very beginning, so it was particularly thrilling to see the space where his serene landscapes and meditative abstracts are realized. His studio is small but inviting. In his words: “I've worked in this space for 15 years, so it is well worn and feels like home.”
Earlier this week, I found refuge from a rainy afternoon in Elizabeth Lennie's home and charming attic studio. Warming up over tea and homemade cookies (compliments of her baker daughter), we passed the hours in winding conversation, touching upon everything from Sophia Loren, to the poetics of space, to the Toronto housing market.
