September Newsletter

Check out our "pop up" gallery at
162 Cumberland St, Toronto
(just east of the Four Seasons).

We are there from September 14th to September 30th ONLY!

Please join us again (we had so much fun last week!) this Thursday September 24th from 6-8pm for refreshments and treats.

Welcome back everyone.
Hope you all had a great summer.

It's back to school for many of our kids!

Artwork in a child's bedroom can spark creativity, alleviate all the stresses of back-to-school life, and help make a child's home environment better.

Greg Shegler, "A", 8" x 10", $200

Well, it's a great show hosted by our friend and acclaimed designer Samantha Pynn. Her show is now syndicated in the US and is very popular... .AND she uses our artworks for every show!

So - if you want to see how art can look amazing in a home setting- or placed in many different rooms and groupings, then tune in! Or go online to: www.hgtv.ca/puredesign

Designer Pick of the Month

This month Samantha's favorite artwork is by Arleigh Wood.

Arleigh Wood, "It Happened Here", 24" x 24", $1,100

"Lately, I've been drawn to Arleigh Wood. When I look at her work I feel like a child walking through a fairy tale. But I'm talking about the good old-school kind of fairy tale, the kind that had no pictures. It's like she jumped into my head and painted the story for me."

Tip of the Month

Did you put that piece of art in the window where the sun shone on it all summer?? Did it fade? Did the mat create a tea stain on the paper?

Firstly, always use acid free mats - this will prevent the 'tea-stains' from happening (it's caused by acid levels that naturally occur in non-archival papers). Secondly, you can put UV protecting glass on your piece - pricey, yes, but if it's a piece you love, then it's worth it. Thirdly, try not to put that piece directly in the window - the sun is not good for you or your art!

Are you getting married soon?

Do you know someone who just got engaged?

Our Registry, a small oil, or a gift certificate for artwork is such a great, original idea. Peruse our ''smalls" online store for perfect 'gift-priced' artworks for that special occasion.

We are offering gift certificates in any denomination. It's simple, and the most appreciated gift you'll ever give.
