Kaitlin Mason

Mason’s drawings explore the details of everyday garments and emphasize specific details playing on the alluring idea of what is seen, and what is hidden. The use of women’s undergarments represent everything women do to be their most courageous and confident selves, and questions how the novelty of how delicate garments can change ones self- esteem. Hidden from an outsider’s gaze, self- empowerment often starts from within.  A woman’s choice of intimates expresses guilt free self-admiration, andthe social ideologies of beauty become immaterial and an individual’s boldness and radiance that is often vacant, shines through.
