An artist from Montreal, Quebec, Julie Naima now lives a life of rural quiet, where she can devote her time to her practice. Naima finds inspiration from poetry and the places she's visited either in her travels or in her vivid imagination. Being self-taught, exploration of various techniques and materials was essential. She fast came to realize color was her strongest interest and natural gift. She simplified her approach and returned to acrylicsto focus on color and its effects on the the viewer.
“Experimenting with colors to explore the psychological effects they can have on us is the basis of my creative process. I aim to express feelings and capture energies in the hopes of opening up a dialogue with the viewer. I hope my art brings a smile to your face and light in your heart.” -J.N.
