Gordana Olujic Dosic is a Toronto-based fibre/mixed media artist. She has been exhibiting her work nationally and internationally since 1984, when she received her B.A. from the University of Arts, Belgrade, Serbia. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Cambridge Galleries in Cambridge, Ontario, Central Museum of Textiles in Lodz, Poland and Atelier 61 in Novi Sad, Serbia.
Often inspired by childhood images, Gordana’s work explores strength and vulnerability, attachment and loss, trust and betrayal. Based on personal record-keeping and memory-preserving means, such as photos, letters and notes, it speaks of the intricate interplay of opposites. Narrative character of her work is underlined by the use of words and statements. Her interest is in visually minimalist, yet emotionally charged work, with a touch of humour.
